If you have a Google Maps integration on your website, you may have been experiencing some issues lately.
Due to recent updates to Google and Billing changes, you may notice that your Maps on your site are showing something like this.
This can be resolved easily using the following steps:
Step 1 – Go to https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/?apis=maps,routes,places and check the Maps, Routes, and Places boxes.
Step 2 – Select or create a new project if none are available.
Step 3 – Enable billing.
Step 4 – Agree and fill in your billing details. You will not receive any charges as outline by Google below.
Step 5 – Enable Google Maps Platform.
Step 6 – Copy the API key.
Step 7 – In most cases, you will just need to send this API key to a developer to update on the site that is giving the error.
If you have the option to, you can update the google map API key in your CMS (WordPress) Plugin. eg.
